PEERS group celebrates its 10th Anniversary

10.06.2026

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) hosted an international meeting of the Penrose Education Experts and Resource Sharing Group (PEERS) in Colorado Springs. The working group celebrated its 10th anniversary at the meeting.

Michael Behr, Head of Education at NADA Germany, gave a presentation on the further development of mandatory educational topics in the anti-doping context. Under the title “From Ticking Boxes to Real Support: Rethinking Mandatory Topics,” he presented NADA Germany’s current education approach, situated it within the context of the new International Standard for Education (ISE 2027), and identified existing challenges. The focus was on the question of how to move from merely covering mandatory topics to achieving a tangible impact in the daily lives of athletes.

This year’s two-day meeting was attended by representatives from the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan, Denmark, Portugal, and Brazil.

The PEERS group is composed of doping education experts from various countries. The group meets annually to discuss important education topics in person. NADA Germany is one of the founding members of the PEERS group.
