In light of recent media reports, the National Anti Doping Agency of Germany (NADA) issues the following statement:
NADA Germany has today identified three Filing Failures and Missed Tests by footballer Laura Freigang. According to NADA Germany’s investigation, the athlete committed the three so-called strikes within a 12-month period. Under the applicable anti-doping regulations, this constitutes a possible anti-doping rule violation by the athlete (Art. 2.4 WADC/NADC: Filing Failures and Missed Tests).
The case was transferred today by NADA Germany to the German Football Association (DFB). The DFB is responsible for the so-called results management/disciplinary proceedings. The DFB will therefore examine and assess the facts of the case and decide on whether a anti-doping rule violation has occurred and on the corresponding sanctions.
Any enquiries regarding the ongoing results management/disciplinary proceedings should be directed to the DFB.
