Exchange with state investigative authorities

30.05.2022

The annual exchange between the National Anti Doping Agency of Germany (NADA Germany) and the state investigating authorities and the laboratories accredited by the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) took place this year as a hybrid event in Bonn and digitally.

20 participants from the main public prosecution offices for doping offences from Munich, Freiburg, Zweibrücken and Düsseldorf as well as representatives of the Federal Criminal Police Office from Germany and Austria, the Customs Investigation Office as well as individual state criminal offices took part in the NADA event. Together with representatives of the WADA-accredited laboratories from Cologne and Dresden as well as colleagues from NADA Austria and Swiss Sport Integrity, they exchanged news about anti-doping work.

NADA Germany gave an update from the areas of the anti-doping testing programme, medicine, law and intelligence & investigations. The work of the state investigation agencies, the international cooperation with Austria and Switzerland as well as the presentation of the International Testing Agency (ITA) were on the agenda. In addition, NADA Germany gave an overview of the planned training and further education concept for persons of state investigation agencies and judges.

NADA Germany continues to cooperate with state investigative agencies and to promote national and international investigative cooperation. New focal prosecution offices, such as the one recently established in Düsseldorf for North Rhine-Westphalia, expand and strengthen the network that has been built up. The joint approach increases the effectiveness of anti-doping work for clean athletes.
