This year's digital journalists' workshop focused on the topic of doping prevention. The fascination with success has its dark side. Pressure to perform, crises and many other reasons can lead to disregard for the integrity of sport. Therefore, the National Anti Doping Agency of Germany (NADA Germany) discussed the topic together with Léa Krüger (Athletes Germany), Prof. Andrea Petroczi (Kingston University London), Marc Vouillamoz (Union of European Football Associations, UEFA) and Dr. Andrea Gotzmann (Chair of NADA Germany's Executive Board). This year, the discussion round formed the conclusion of the journalists' workshop. Beforehand, NADA Germany organised digital stations on current anti-doping topics.
Stefan Trinks, Head of NADA Germany's Testing Programme, gave an insight into the long-term storage strategy for doping samples and the remote testing project with the DBS method (Dried Blood Spot). Dr. Lars Mortsiefer, Head of NADA Germany's Legal Department and Board Member, explained current topics related to the National Anti-Doping Code 2021 and addressed NADA Germany's upcoming compliance review by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). On 1 October 2022, the Prohibited List for the coming year was published by WADA. Christoph Berg, a member of NADA Germany's Medical Department, gave an insight into the most important changes to the Prohibited List for 2023. Michael Behr, Head of NADA Germany's Prevention Department, concluded the series of lectures with a presentation on the implementation of the WADA Standard for Education.
