Digital Teacher Training "Olympic - Fair - Clean"

04.10.2021

Teachers convey fundamental attitudes and values to children and young people. For this important target group of GEMEINSAM GEGEN DOPING (TOGETHER AGANST DOPING), the prevention programme of the National Anti Doping Agency of Germany (NADA Germany), the German Olympic Academy (DOA) organised a digital teacher training course on the topics of fair play and doping prevention in cooperation with NADA Germany.

After an introduction to the event by Anna Hofman (DOA) and Lisa Kniebeler (NADA Germany), the entire day was used for discussions under the title "Olympic - Fair - Clean". During an athlete talk, moderated by Dr. Gerald Fritz (DOA Director), Ricarda Funk (Olympic canoe slalom champion Tokyo 2020) gave a personal insight into her experiences as a top athlete of Team D and spoke about the importance of doping prevention from the athletes' point of view.

After an exchange in the "World Cafe", where the participants delved into the topics of values of sport, fair play and role models, the second part of the event continued with Dominic Ullrich (Carl-von-Weinberg-Schule Frankfurt), Denise Möller and Sebastian Engels (NADA Germany). The speakers used positive and negative case studies in sport to create a basis for an intensive discourse with the participants.
