Anti-Doping-Workshop – Exchange with Anti-Doping-Representatives

26.09.2025

The National Anti Doping Agency of Germany (NADA Germany) invited the Anti-Doping-Representatives (ADBs) of the top national sports federations to a joint workshop in Bonn. The annual exchange serves to promote networking and discuss current anti-doping issues.

NADA Germany presented the participants with a varied programme. Among other things, the specialist departments presented the anti-doping programme for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Milan, the current status of the new World Anti-Doping Code and current medical topics.

The presentation by Dr Hans Geyer from the Institute of Biochemistry at the German Sport University Cologne focused on the topic of contamination and its potential dangers as a doping risk. In addition, Daniela Lux from the University of Innsbruck and Julian Lanfer and Benedikt Stoffers from the University of Münster provided insights into their research project ‘TALE – What about us?’. The focus was on the question of how doping violations are perceived from the perspective of sanctioned and clean athletes.

Following the presentation, participants discussed the results with the research team in an interactive workshop. Another NADA Germany workshop focused on the tasks and obligations of the federations in implementing final sanction decisions.

‘The exchange with the Anti-Doping Representatives and the opportunity to introduce them to current topics and developments in anti-doping work are very important to us. In their federations, they are the central points of contact for clean sport, so it is particularly important to us to support them in their valuable work in the best possible way,’ says Chairman of the Board Dr Lars Mortsiefer.

The informative day was rounded off by personal exchanges between the participants and NADA Germany staff.
