Die Nationale Anti Doping Agentur Deutschland (NADA) und die Internationale Test Agentur (International Testing Agency: ITA) kooperieren zukünftig in den Bereichen Kontrolldurchführung und Intelligence & Investigations (I&I). Auch die Anwendung und Fortentwicklung der Dried Blood Spot (DBS)-Technik ist gemeinsames Ziel von der NADA und der ITA.
„Für den sauberen Sport ist es enorm wichtig, dass wir gemeinsam auf internationaler Ebene die Anti-Doping-Arbeit noch besser vernetzen, koordinieren und harmonisieren. Wir freuen uns, durch diese Kooperation die fair agierenden Athletinnen und Athleten noch intensiver unterstützen zu können“, sagte Dr. Andrea Gotzmann, Vorstandsvorsitzende der NADA.
„Deutschland ist ein Land mit vielen internationalen Spitzensportlerinnen und -sportlern und großen Sportveranstaltungen. Es ist daher ein wichtiger Schritt nach vorne für die Anti-Doping-Arbeit, dass die ITA und die NADA Deutschland nun ihre gemeinsamen Kräfte noch effizienter einsetzen können“, sagte ITA-Generaldirektor Benjamin Cohen: „Die Zusammenarbeit mit Nationalen Anti-Doping-Organisationen (NADOs) ist für die ITA von größter Bedeutung und wir freuen uns sehr, dass wir diese Vereinbarung mit einer der führenden Organisationen in Europa unterzeichnet haben.“
Die Absichtserklärung regelt die Zuständigkeiten und Verantwortlichkeiten bei der Durchführung von Dopingkontrollen in Deutschland. Ziel ist es, insbesondere im Bereich der international tätigen Sportlerinnen und Sportler Ressourcen effektiv einzusetzen. Ein erstes gemeinsames Projekt werden die European Championships in München, vom 11. bis 21. August 2022, sein, bei denen die NADA die Koordinierung, die ITA die Durchführung der Dopingkontrollen übernehmen wird.
Der Austausch im Bereich der I&I-Arbeit sowie eine Zusammenarbeit im Bereich des Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) im Rahmen der Vorgaben durch den Welt Anti-Doping Code stellen einen weiteren Schwerpunkt des Memorandum of Understanding dar.
Die Vereinbarung ist zunächst auf ein Jahr festgelegt.

NADA GERMANY AND THE ITA AGREE ON COOPERATION
The National Anti Doping Agency of Germany (NADA Germany) and the International Testing Agency (ITA) will cooperate in future in the areas of testing and Intelligence & Investigations (I&I). The application and further development of the Dried Blood Spot (DBS) technique is also a common goal of NADA Germany and the ITA.
"It is extremely important for clean sport that we network, coordinate and harmonize anti-doping work even better at international level. We are pleased that this cooperation can give even more intensive support to athletes who act fairly," said Dr. Andrea Gotzmann, CEO of NADA Germany.
"Germany is a country with many international level athletes and major sport events. It is therefore an important step forward for the anti-doping work that the ITA and NADA Germany now can use our common forces even more efficiently," said ITA Director General Benjamin Cohen. "The cooperation with National Anti-Doping Organisations (NADOs) is of utmost importance to the ITA, and we are very pleased to have signed this agreement with one of the leading ones in Europe."
The Memorandum of Understanding regulates the competences and responsibilities for the area of testing in Germany. The aim is to use resources effectively, especially in with internationally active athletes. A first joint project will be the European Championships in Munich in August 2022, where NADA Germany will be responsible for coordinating and the ITA for conducting doping controls.
The exchange in the scope of I&I work as well as cooperation in the area of the Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) within the framework of the requirements by the World Anti-Doping Code represent a further focus of the Memorandum of Understanding.
The agreement is initially set for one year.
