Die Nationale Anti Doping Agentur (NADA) und die Vertreterinnen und Vertreter der deutschen Profiligen im Basketball (easyCredit BBL), Handball (LIQUI MOLY HBL) und Volleyball (VBL) legen gemeinsam den Grundstein für eine Neustrukturierung von Dopingkontrollmaßnahmen außerhalb von Wettkämpfen in den drei Sportarten.
Nach einer kurzen Testphase zur Einrichtung der administrativen Infrastruktur und Durchführung von Schulungsveranstaltungen wird die NADA ab Februar 2022 in den drei Profiligen der Herren sowie der Volleyball Bundesliga der Frauen einen Team-Testpool einrichten.
Der Team-Testpool umfasst alle in den jeweiligen Ligen lizenzierte Spielerinnen und Spieler und ermöglicht es der NADA, sämtliche der oben genannten Liga-Spielerinnen und -Spieler außerhalb des Wettkampfes zu kontrollieren. Über zentrale Teamabmeldungen, die den internationalen Vorgaben für Meldepflichten der Welt Anti-Doping Agentur (WADA) entsprechen, erhält die NADA die Aufenthaltsinformationen der Athletinnen und Athleten zur Dopingkontrollplanung in den drei Mannschaftssportarten.
Basketball, Handball und Volleyball folgen damit dem bereits bestehenden und bewährten System im Fußball und Eishockey. Für die Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL/DEB) und die Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL/DFB) existieren bereits Team-Testpools mit dem Ziel, umfangreiche Dopingkontrollmaßnahmen außerhalb des Wettkampfes durchzuführen.

NADA LAUNCHES TEAM TESTING POOL FOR OUT-OF COMPETITION CONTROLS IN EASYCREDIT BBL, LIQUI MOLY HBL AND VBL
The National Anti Doping Agency of Germany (NADA Germany) and representatives of the German professional leagues in basketball (easyCredit BBL), handball (LIQUI MOLY HBL) and volleyball (VBL) are jointly laying the foundation for a restructuring of out-of-competition control measures in the three sporting disciplines.
After a short test phase to set up the administrative infrastructure and conduct trainings, NADA Germany will establish a team testing pool in the three professional men's leagues and the women's volleyball Bundesliga starting in February 2022.
The team testing pool will include all players licensed in the respective leagues and will enable NADA Germany to test all of the above-mentioned league players outside of competitions. Through central team whereabouts, which comply with the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) international whereabout requirements, NADA Germany receives athlete whereabouts information for test planning in the three team sports.
Basketball, handball and volleyball thus follow the already existing and proven system in soccer and ice hockey. Team testing pools already exist for the German Ice Hockey League (DEL/DEB) and the German Soccer League (DFL/DFB) with the aim of carrying out extensive doping control measures outside of competition.
