Bei der EU Anti-Doping Konferenz vom 7. bis 8. November 2022 in Prag unter der Ratspräsidentschaft Tschechiens stellte Dr. Lars Mortsiefer, Chefjustitiar und Vorstandsmitglied der Nationalen Anti Doping Agentur Deutschland (NADA), die Maßnahmen im Bereich des Datenschutzes in der deutschen Anti-Doping-Arbeit vor.
Die Konferenz diente dem Austausch über die aktuelle Anti-Doping-Arbeit auf EU-Ebene. Die Rolle der Welt Anti-Doping Agentur (WADA), der Nationalen Anti-Doping-Organisationen und der staatlichen Einrichtungen bei der Unterstützung und dem Schutz des sauberen Sports waren ebenso wie die Intelligence- & Investigations-Arbeit und das Thema Datenschutz in der Anti-Doping-Arbeit aus Sicht der EU Themen der Konferenz.
Datenschutz und Datensicherheit sind wichtige Rechte der Athletinnen und Athleten und Grundpfeiler der Anti-Doping-Arbeit. Deshalb ist es von entscheidender Bedeutung, dass die Anti-Doping-Organisationen die von ihnen erhobenen personenbezogenen Daten angemessen schützen, dabei die Anforderungen an geltendes Datenschutzrecht erfüllen und so das Vertrauen der am organisierten Sport beteiligten Personen dauerhaft erhalten.

EU Anti-Doping Conference: NADA Germany speaks on the topic of data protection
At the EU Anti-Doping Conference in Prague on 7 and 8 November 2022 under the Presidency of the Czech Republic, Dr Lars Mortsiefer, Head of the Legal Department and Member of the Executive Board of the National Anti Doping Agency of Germany (NADA Germany), presented the measures in the area of data protection in the anti-doping work in Germany.
The conference served as an exchange on current anti-doping work at EU level. The role of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the National Anti-Doping Organisations and the state institutions in supporting and protecting clean sport were topics of the conference, as were the intelligence and investigation work and the topic of data protection in anti-doping work from an EU perspective.
Data protection and data security are important rights of athletes and cornerstones of anti-doping work. It is therefore crucial that anti-doping organisations adequately protect the personal data they collect, while complying with the requirements of applicable data protection law and thus maintaining the trust of those involved in organised sport in the long term.
