"Wir danken dem unabhängigen Compliance Review Committe (CRC) und dem Intelligence & Investigations-Team der WADA für die konsequente Aufarbeitung und die Vorbereitung der Entscheidung des heutigen Tages", sagte Dr. Andrea Gotzmann, Vorstandsvorsitzende der Nationalen Anti Doping Agentur Deutschland.
"Die Verantwortlichen im russischen Sport und bei der russischen Anti-Doping Agentur (RUSADA) hatten viele Chancen, Fehlverhalten einzugestehen und dieses im Sinne des fairen Sports zu korrigieren. Die nun vorliegende eindeutige Beweislage zeigt, dass stattdessen weiterhin manipuliert wurde. Wir fordern daher alle beteiligten Parteien auf, dazu gehören nicht nur die RUSADA, sondern auch das Internationale Olympische Komitee, das Paralympische Komitee und die Internationalen Verbände, die Entscheidung des CRC anzuerkennen und ohne weiteren Verzug umzusetzen", führt Gotzmann fort.
"Ein Umdenken wird es nur geben, wenn eine systematische Manipulation dieser Größenordnung entsprechende Konsequenzen erfährt und klar wird, dass der langjährige Betrug an den sauberen Athletinnen und Athleten in aller Welt inakzeptabel ist. Die nun getroffene Entscheidung ist bereits der kleinste gemeinsame Nenner und darf nicht weiter verwässert werden", meinte Gotzmann: "Die Umsetzung der Entscheidung muss mit Blick auf alle anstehenden Sportveranstaltungen Klarheit und Rechtssicherheit schaffen."

NADA demands acceptance and uninterrupted implementation of the WADA decision
"We would like to thank WADA's independent Compliance Review Committee (CRC) and the WADA Intelligence & Investigations Team for resolute work and preparation for today's decision," said Dr. Andrea Gotzmann, CEO of the National Anti Doping Agency of Germany.
"Those responsible for Russian sport and the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) had many opportunities to admit misconduct and correct it in the sense of fair sport. The clear evidence now available shows that manipulation continued instead. We therefore call upon all parties involved, including not only RUSADA, but also the International Olympic Committee, the Paralympic Committee and the International Federations to acknowledge the decision of the CRC and implement the decision without further delay," Gotzmann continues.
"There will only be a rethink if systematic manipulation of this magnitude is given corresponding consequences and it becomes clear that the long-term fraud on clean athletes around the world is unacceptable. The decision that has now been taken is already the lowest common denominator and should not be further diluted," said Gotzmann: "The implementation of the decision must create clarity and legal certainty with regard to all upcoming sporting events."
